Most of the problems you saw are a result of the file being posted in FTX mode.
You can eliminate all but two BFC errors by doing the following:
- Click the “View Raw Message” link at the top right of Thomas’s post
- Select all the DAT code
- Copy the code to the clipboard
- Create an empty file named x461.ldr on your computer
- Edit the above file in Notepad
- Paste all the DAT code into the file
- Save the file
If you do the above, the file will work fine. You’ll get two BFC errors, and
BFC will be disabled for the file in LDView, but other than that, everything
will be fine.
Thomas: the BFC spec requires that the first BFC command in the file preceed all
other non-comment lines in the file. Furthermore, parts are required to have 0
BFC CERTIFY after their header lines if they are BFC’d. Having said that, the
file isn’t BFC-compliant, so just removing the one BFC line in the file will get
rid of the error in LDView. (By not BFC-compliant, I mean that if you do add a
0 BFC CERTIFY to the top of the file, lots of polygons disappear.)

| Thanks Travis, I'll have to remember that for next time. Thomas, I got the file you sent me and it works just fine... But it's missing a quad. The file shows this: Line #86: 4 16 20 0 -15 20 2 -15 20 2 -12 20 0 -10 Line #87: 4 16 20 2 -15 -20 2 -15 (...) (18 years ago, 14-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

| Part 2431px17.dat works great. However part x461.dat has issues. Heres the errors from LDVIEW. Thanks again. First BFC command isn’t the first action in file; changing to NOCERTIFY.
