Sure, the jpg images are copyrighted. I don't think that the design for a
model expressed therein necessarily is. (I'm not a lawyer, but if I were,
I'm sure I could dredge up some precedent / example here. There was a
special exception added to the DMCA to deal with the designs of boat
hulls....) In any case, I'm sure that there is a wide range for fair use,
and that certainly covers making a model based on the one pictured. It
*absolutely* permits making a model based on *ideas* found there.

One can *register* a copyright, which makes it much easier to defend in a court of law, but one does not need to register to actually hold a (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.underground)
