We have not developed one.
Hopefully there wont really be a need but if there is, (that is, if someone
gets timed out and then sends a note to the admins contesting the decision) we
would either look at it again, ad-hoc, or develop one. We presumably (I am
speaking just for myself here, didnt take a poll first) would prefer that this
issue not arise. If we got to the point that we needed to give a timeout, and
the poster contested it just to be difficult, well that certainly would be a
data point, wouldnt it?
Kelly spoke of the desire to keep matters private, that is, to respect the
privacy of the posters rather than publicly flog them any more than necessary. I
think thats my preferred approach too.
If the poster posts to admin.general to complain, theyve waived that privacy
right, and further, that certainly would be an appeal of sorts, wouldnt it? I
think weve seen that in the past. I know Id, in reply, cite the posts where
the poster was warned, if any, and the posts where the poster crossed the line,
and leave it at that, without being excessively wordy. (If thats possible. Some
might have their doubts)
Hope that helps.
