I don't know, Ben. I don't think James has the heart to invest so much
time into designing a DOMESTIC model such as the chief. He's much to
brainwashed with that European bug. :^)
Actually, I'm sure quite a lot of inspiration came from James and his
SNOT designs. Either that or his great western charm during his interview
with LEGO.
This super chief reminds me of my Union Pacific F7 that I built. (See
pictures at the NGLTC site) I used stickers to create the same windshield
in yellow for my MOC. I was going to use red electrical tape to create one
for a Super Chief but I guess I won't have to now.
Funny how everyone knocked me for using stickers all over my F7 design
but LEGO did the same for their official model!!! :^) I can't wait to
use that Santa Fe front end sticker on my current F7 train I'm building for
next years train shows.
Hmmm.....looks like old Ben's April Fools joke came true after all. I've
been lusting after grey trucks ever since. Congrats, Ben for your
inspiration to the big Kahoonas!
Cheers,
John Warren
