It's a neat set, for sure. Personally I'd rather have seen a blue train,
making it more suitable for UK prototypes, but even so this has to be the
best and most realistic train LEGO have ever produced. It comes close to
some of James Mathis' designs!

My eyes are wildly bugged-out!  This Super Chief is beautiful.

Huw: thanks for the compliment, but I am not this good.  I think this Super
Chief model far surpasses my study on the f7.  I just took a look back at my
(feeble) attempt at the f7 some years ago in the 70's era Amtrak "headless
arrow" livery:

The Super Chief locomotive is *so* much better!
I'm very impressed.

Gray wheels:  Looks like Ben Beneke got some attention...or at least some of
what he's wanted for some time, now.  Very cool!
