I think we determined that the derail was caused the wheels being a little too close together. Even with the large flanges, the steam engine would traverse the switch, if a small washer were used to keep the big wheels a bit farther apart. Also, one (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.trains)

Hi John, Nice Hogwarts Express. Looks great with the coupling rods/drive rods. I too have Ben's excellent wheels but am struggling to make these connections with six drivers and accomodate the necessary articulation to get round the sharp curves, (...) (...) Thanks! Yes, that is a model of the Frisco 1630, and actual locomotive operating at the Illinois Railway Museum (www.irm.org).
