what's left for LEGO to make?

TLC has made almost every small craft that can be made from the movies. What is left for them to do? They don't seem too keen on making scenery playsets, from what we have seen so far. It's a little early for speculations, but it just crossed my (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

(...) Yeah, I can think of at least one long thread on the issue already: (URL) they've run out of stuff, though, except for playsets of course, of which they've done very few. A cantina scene, a couple death star scenes (trash compactor, throne (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

(...) attractions are clear: a chrome exterior, definitely Amidala, Ric Olie, and R2-D2; possibly Obi-Wan, Panaka, and R4-D5 (gotta get more use out of that mold. . .). This would be an entirely doable set as a scaled-down version (like the Falcon). (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

(...) I agree completely, my theory is that this fall we'll see maybe one or two playscenes or whatever from the classic trilogy just to tide us over until the Ep II stuff comes out in the spring. (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

(...) I agree with you on the second point, but I don't think we've seen the last of 2001 Star Wars sets. The Millenium Falcon wasn't announced at the beginning of the year last year, was it(I could be mistaken on this)? I wouldn't be at all (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

(...) There are at least three more ~$100 ships they could do from classic: the sandcrawler, the AT-AT and the blockade runner (off-scale? yes, sure, but then again, look at how off-scale the $35 shuttle is...). Possibly the sail barge too... Thing (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

(...) I don't consider the chome exterior to be part of the list of "attractions". While I'd love a pile of chrome bricks, the hull of the Nubian ship is smooth and sleek, and I don't think they'd do it that way. We'd wind up with a chrome SPUD (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

Funny, I was just thinking about this topic myself and logged on to post a similar question.... Assuming TLC is not pausing for a spell to wait for fresh EPII models, who would be interested in a UCS Droid Fighter? I was looking through the (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

Here are my guesses. Seriously! I'm pretty good at this. I was able to deduct way before anyone even saw pictures that the MF would use those big saucer sections and that the AT-ST would use shifty-slidy legs. I'm good at predicting these (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

(...) I agree that the set isn't all that bad (I have 2 of them after all.) MOF, I like the set. My comment was really directed at the "real" Droid Fighter. Yawn. Kind of boring and as disposable as a paper cup. james (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: what's left for LEGO to make?

Of course the AT-AT!!! I've said here before that I really hope that they make an AT-AT, and not just any AT-AT. One incredible, massive, hulking AT-AT that rivals any and all MOC that is around. There are lots of awesome MOC AT-AT's, I just hope (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

I just got done sorting 50 of them. I love it, but there's a mighty heap of useless things after the plates and such. Maybe something good will come from fiddling with all those 200 brown banana slopes. My source had 200+ copies from a Kmart. (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.starwars)
