Thanks Dan :-)

It’s funny how you say “never again.” After I built Dragonstar, I felt the same way. In fact, I was also thinking of going microfig on my next biggie. Going big at minifig scale may be more impressive but it is such a chore.

I guess, given all the interior stuff which is presumably what you mostly mean. I found that micro was a great way to concentrate on different kinds of ship features that I wouldn’t work on in minifig.

Also, many sacrifices must be made to the design so the ship is never quite exactly the way I want it. But your models came at a perfect time to spark my imagination. :)

Well, you know, that’s the real reward in posting stuff here.

The only thing I would suggest is re-taking your pictures against a darker background, like a dark gray or black. The white ships on white background don’t allow your models to stand out the way they did in that cool wallpaper image you made.

Well, I did an initial photo shoot against a dark backdrop, but the problem was the parts of the ship in shadow got very little scattered light from the backdrop, and so came out almost black, with the result that a lot of details weren’t as obvious in the final images. I’m thinking of borrowing a better digital camera from a friend, so I can take a couple of bigger, better shots specifically for making a decent wallpaper.

Cheers,
