I just don't buy that ILM constructed models INTENTIONALLY with
specific scales in mind.

Dave, if they didn't design models with a specific scale intended, they
wouldn't put figures in the cockpits!

Sorry, I was implying capital ships-- Fighters, etc, you definitely have a
point with the figures. But for ships like ISD's, SSD, Mon Cal Cruisers,
Rebel Transports, Blockade Runner, etc, I just can't imagine that the models
were intentionally designed on similar consistant scales-- IE that ALL ship
models were created on one of 3 specifically designed scales or something. I
can imagine them trying to decide while building how big the intended model
scale should be, but not trying to be consistant from model to model when it
comes to the capital ships...

I'll agree with you that Curtis Saxton Does sometimes run off on his own
tangent and stamps it with a "this is the end of the argument" seal, and I
emailed him with lots of praise and some constructive criticism only to be
ignored, making me wonder if he thinks he's above question.

I've emailed him questions all of twice with no response (admittedly not
that much)-- and given that his site isn't exactly constantly updated, I
kinda wonder if the email address listed has since been abandoned... Dunno
though...

I still find his site thoroughly enjoyable, though.

It's definitely useful for lots of stuff. As long as you follow what he's
saying and make sure he's not ignoring something obvious and that his
sources are backed up accurately (or accounted for), it's well worth a read.
