Hi Dave,

Just to clarify this isn't directed at you. You argued it should never have been
brought here which I fully agree with. You never once said it should be deleted
or locked which is where I take issue.

Tim

If your comments were directed at me, then you are absolutely right.  I don't
post to the forums much.  That doesn't mean that I don't read them.  Anyone who
knows me in person knows that I'm generally a pretty quiet guy.  It says a lot
that I've gotten to the point where I feel like I need to speak up.

As for being able to ignore things a little better, I've been ignoring it for
months.  I'm just tired of seeing it flare up over and over again.  It's a bit
like watching your neighbors fight in the street.  The first time it happens, as
long as no one gets hurt, it gets chalked up to people having an arguement.  If
it keeps happening, eventually it's disturbing the peace, and I'm going to call
the cops.

Timothy, I respect that you didn't bring this to Lugnet in the first place, and
I appreciate that you see the irony in your own statement above.  To me, that's
at least a start.  I don't know what touched off this feud in the first place,
but it's gone on for so long now that you all appear to be fighting just for the
sake of fighting.  It's not a matter of hiding the fight from sensitive eyes.
Personally, I don't even know what you are all fighting about.  All I know is
that you all keep fighting.  It's tiring to watch.

What's even worse for me is that you are all awesome builders.  I guess that's
what makes it hard for me to understand what the fight gains any of you.

And yes, you are right, I don't have to read the posts.  Like I said before, I
usually just ignore Lugnet for a few weeks until it all dies down again.  I
think it's unfair that people should have to do that though.  It's a bit like
not being able to go to my favorite pub, because every time I do, someone in the
middle of the room gets into a fight.

(...) Hi Elroy, I hope that my comment didn't come out harsher than it was intended. I'm pretty passionate about free speech and probably come across ruder than I intend to. (...) I agree with this. To be honest I really regret adding that comment. (...) (18 years ago, 15-Aug-06, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
