No, you misunderstand.
You spotlight stuff you want to see spotlighted. Spotlight a post of a MOC
that you like, or an event youre interested in. You dont have to spotlight
a counter view.
If you dont want my post appearing in the highlights list, what do you want
in the highlights list? Have you spotlighted lots of examples of the things
you do want?
Dont like my post? Fine. Dont spotlight it. Then go and spotlight ten
things you do want to see (MOCs, events, whatever), and trust that three or
four other users will do the same... my post, and worst of the worst posts
disappear from the main page.
No admin intervention, just the community actually highlighting what it wants
to see!

The Spotlight feature has been in place for what, five years or more now? And
petty aguments and the like *consistantly* get in the front page spotlight. I
think this is proof enough the current system doesnt work. Youre saying all
people need to do is spotlight other posts to get things off the front page.
Others have been saying that for years, usually everytime a thread like this
pops up. Has anything come of it? Not at all. I just think its time for a
change.
