Hi Elroy,
I hope that my comment didn't come out harsher than it was intended. I'm pretty
passionate about free speech and probably come across ruder than I intend to.

I agree with this. To be honest I really regret adding that comment. It's just
that some people who often call for thread locking or whatever often seem to
have a high negative to positive post ratio (noone in this thread) which I find
frustrating. I'm sorry for writing it though and would like to apologise to you,
Dave and Michael for it.

This is fair. I'm often torn with this sort of thread. On the one hand I don't
mind it and nor do most (but not all) of the people I know but on the other hand
I realise that a good portion of Lugnet find it intolerable. That's one reason I
usually try to remember to take my posts over to .off-topic.debate which is
where it belongs and where it can be easily ignored.

I think this is best left unanswered.

Good analogy. Perhaps a suitable compromise would be to have the thread (and any
future ones too) moved into .off-topic.debate. I would be happy with such a move
and it would keep it out of the eyes of most people. That way the fight is off
in the back-room to continue your analogy.
