Just because the world's going to hell in a handcart doesn't give you the
right to push it faster.

Actually, the most of the world's population have more important things to
worry about than being offended. Things like having enough food, adequate
shelter, clean water. It's mostly self-centered, arrogant Americans who have
nothing better to do than whine about being offended by what people say. And
yes, I am an American.

Sure, but that doesn't give you free reign to go around purposefully saying
things that you *know* are going to offend people. If more people would
realise that *everyone else* is a person *just like them* with similar hopes,
dreams, fears, and so forth (rather than the current [again, America-centered]
idea that Life is about being Happy, and Whatever Make You Happy is the Most
Important), maybe some of Us would get along better. Maybe not; it seems to me
that the only common thread in human behaviour is that we don't like one
another.

This is just my opinion. Other opinions are welcomed and relished.

No, the proper justification for the *right* people have to go around saying things that they know are going to offend people (at least in America), is that we have a constitutional right to do so (with certain limitations, see my other post).
