In short, Steve, the world is a big ol' place, and not everyone on the
planet agrees with you.  If you want to be part of that world, you have
to accept and tolerate other views.  Especially on the internet, you
cannot rely on the cozy surroundings of like-thinking individuals.  On
the specific issue you objected to, approximately 3 quarters of the
planet disagrees with you.  At present there is no rec.toys.lego.devout.
Until that day comes, if you want to discuss lego with other lego
enthusiasts, you need to be prepared for the fact that lego may be the
only faith we all share.

Jim, frankly, I think you're as close-minded as you say I am.  I always get a
kick out of how liberals and atheists always say how open-minded they are, yet
as soon as someone of a Christian persuasion or someone from a different
ideological stance comes into a discussion there are sudden dillusional fears
of world-dominance.  And, might I add, the rec.toys.lego.atheist or
rec.toys.lego.anti-Christian doesn't exist either -- got it?  And, YOU need to
be prepared that there will be some Christians who enjoy LEGO too --
understand?  I've rarely met an atheist or liberal that's open-minded to my
beliefs -- surprising isn't it?

You need to also be prepared that there will be some who don't think it's
appropriate to footnote something that has no relevance (Christmas trains or
not) to the original discussion.  They might not be speaking up on this board,
but those people do exist.

And, Jim, you don't need to lecture me on the realities of the Internet.  You
may not agree with me or Christianity, but we're not stupid people nor do we
live in a cave.  I still STAND by what I said initially -- your enlightening
lecture on the realities of the world aside.

Thank you,
Steve Berry

Also sprach Steve Berry: : Anyway, I can't speak for other people with SIGS, but I make it a point not to : voice or interject my personal beliefs in discussions unrelated to those : beliefs. I have to disagree with you here, Steve (and stick up for (...) (26 years ago, 12-Dec-98, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
