Yes.  According to M-W online, the color chartreuse is "a variable color
averaging a brilliant yellow green."  It describes the LEGO color perfectly!

Nope, that would be Trans-Neon Green, aka Trans-Antifreeze or Trans-Yellow
green.

My favorite name for it (I think Jeff Thompson coined it?) is "Alien Vomit."
