I hit another Ames as a favor to a fellow AFOL...Due to long check out
lines, numerous screaming babies and a couple Irate seniors at Customer
Service, the manager waved to the Cashier in front of me to mark them down
and get the ine moving...modest score of a dozen sets, no hassles...

I went back to an Ames I had pillaged before, only to find some Star Wars
sets had been restocked...notably a couple Destroyers, a few Flash Speeders,
a couple Gungan patrols and a pair of X-wings...

I went to customer service at this Ames due to long check out lines...the
service associate took 1 look at the advert, made a comment like "Darn"
computers, and began discounting my haul...wi a smile, no less.

All stores within 60 miles of me have huge holes in their Lego displays...I
hit 2 more stores today as a favor for a family member...there was ZERO SW
Lego, heck, much of the Castle was gone too...I wonder if some individual
smoozed his/her way into a non SW Lego discount...
I kind of wondered about cleaning them out of sets (I only spent

I don't know about anyone else, but my card is thinner from excessive
friction = ) A deal this good only happens around here once in a
decade...Wal Mart doesn't discount much more than $.11 a set and K mart just
started restocking Lego (No old treasures because all 2 stores had were
clone brands)
I generally didn't clean out everything (I left more than I took)...Me
thinks there are more Lugnet Lurkers in my area due to the utter
disappearance of any SW sets upon return visits to a couple stores.
Somehow I

That's where a few of mine will go after I get the figs I want...The deluge
on eBay started days ago...

| (...) Sigh...yes, that's an impressive stack. I hope you're planning to build, suh! ;) I've had to put most of my back sets in storage because of this haul. Methinks the fire sale will begin sooner than I'd planned... (...) Yep, they're always (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.theory)
