Slopes and inverse slopes aren't "basic" bricks, though ;-) I consider them essential, especially corner slopes and INVERSE corner slopes (too dang hard to get in sets these days). With the ability to purchase many of a single element directly from TLG in the not-to-distant future, I had the idea of developing an on-line database to track demand for an individual element. With the number of LEGO clubs forming I believe that the target number for a min order can easily be hit. Elements could then be distributed within the group, thus insulating TLG from smaller orders.
