I think that this database would be beneficial for requesting lost or
missing parts also. Whenever I request parts from customer service they do
not have the ability to reference parts by the number listed on the part.
Getting a lost part is a lengthy process of going through a manual,
describing the part and hope that they actually get you the right part.
I'd say one out of five parts that I am sent tend to be the wrong piece.
Getting replacement parts would be much easier, less time consuming for Lego
and more accurate if we both (us and Lego) were referencing the same
database of part numbers.
