Re: The world's largest BrikWars battle?

(...) Hey hey, write-up exists now ;-) (URL) baldly going... (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: The world's largest BrikWars battle?

(...) That sounds like a challenge to me. I think we have our next battle scenario Adrian. <Bwhuhuhahahahahahah...ahahahaha> (...) Well, that's something then isn't it? Thanks, Gino A... (24 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: The world's largest BrikWars battle?

(...) Wow! What a game! (...) I'm pretty sure the biggest battles prior to this have been run by the Australians (see one of their writeups at (URL) ), but I don't know what their numbers were or even if they kept track of CP. They've definitely got (...) (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  The world's largest BrikWars battle?

I finally completed the writeup for the BrikWars battle between Gino and myself on September 3-4, 2000. Yes, it took two days, and if we wanted to continue the fight until one side was wiped out, it probably would've been another day. Each side had (...) (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: RPG PBEM

It would be pretty nice. The only problem is that I don't have a digital camera and very little medieval pieces. Oh well, it'd be pretty cool. (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: RPG PBEM

Thanks for all the help, guys... I really liked Will's page, btw. While I must admit I am a little iffy when it comes to mixing 'technology' or even magic into a historical medieval world, I really liked the quest for the crystals series; I think (...)   Re: RPG PBEM

(...) It can be a lot of fun to try and work with another persons creations. This is what makes RPGs so much fun. Of course a full shared universe is very difficult to pull off well (which is why the shared universe fiction of the 80s has mostly (...) (24 years ago, 18-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: RPG PBEM

(...) I've thought about doin something like that a lot, letting a wanderer through my kingdom from another world, or vice versa, or have another worlds group help my guys defeat a greater evil. I don't know though, my characters are pretty stuck in (...) (24 years ago, 18-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: RPG PBEM

(...) This certainly is an interesting idea, though I think the Castle World efforts may be more interesting overall. RPG writeups rarely read very well (though if written to highlight a few interesting events can be pretty interesting, but it is (...) (24 years ago, 18-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: YALUGS, draft version

(...) I think he was on to the right idea, altho I guess he was thinking of StarFleetBattles Box system. OGRE was typewriter check boxes in original too. (...) It is not even close to true It cheats for all players [/:-D. (...) Yep, there are errors (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: YALUGS, draft version

(...) This is genius! I especially like the idea of using Lego flats to keep track of unit stats. I remember seeing Paul Gyugyi doing that for spaceships in his Renegade Bricks game, but I never thought of doing it with minifig units. I've always (...) (24 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  YALUGS, draft version

Just a note mentioning that I put up a recent draft of YALUGS. Yet another LEGO Universe Game System. Real original I know but there it is. Comments and suggestions for more rules and flames in general are welcome. (URL) (24 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: New BrikWars games

I have the first battle report written up from the Labor Day Weekend BrikWars festivities at my house. The Skeleton Rules playtest battle went very well (if you're a skeleton, that is...) Check out the battle report, and let me know what you think (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: New BrikWars games

Due to my own brainlessness, I have had to repost these two galleries, so you won't find them at these locations. They are now here: (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  New BrikWars games

Hello All. I've posted pictures of this weekend's BrikWars festivities between Gino Melone and myself. The first battle was a playtest of some experimental Dragon and Skeleton rules Gino and I had come up with. Unfortunately, they're a little (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: BrikWars RV question (not from Gino this time...)

(...) Yeah, I kept trying to build the same kind of mechs and running into the same kind of problem. The CMP was kept high because for some reason I wanted the explosives' CMPs to remain the same for troops as for vehicles. (I guess I wanted to keep (...) (24 years ago, 3-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: BrikWars RV question (not from Gino this time...)

(...) to (...) more (...) Heh. Um, never mind. I just reread the 2000 rules, and it seems that MK2 missiles no longer have a CMP. Oops. So ignore this paragraph here :) Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (24 years ago, 2-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: BrikWars RV question (not from Gino this time...)

(...) The main issue is that this mech is armed with a fairly large number of small (relative to it) MKII missiles, which chew up enormous emounts of -CMP". It seems incongruous to have 4 MKII missiles have as much -CMP" as a MKV laser, which is a (...) (24 years ago, 2-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: BrikWars RV question (not from Gino this time...)

(...) If you're building it as a standard vehicle, sure. If you're using the RV rules to build it, then I don't know how well the math will hold up. The Vehicle Perfomance Modification rules were designed to let players modify standard vehicles (...) (24 years ago, 2-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

BrikWars RV question (not from Gino this time...)

Okay, I'm costing a mech that's woefully underpowered for all the gizmos that I want to give him, so I have to buy a High Torque option (or two) for the poor guy. I'm assuming that standard vehicle upgrades work on mecha as well, right? If so, then (...) (24 years ago, 2-Sep-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: Another BrikWars RV question

(...) That's the right formula. The HTML update of the RV rules is half-done, and I remembered to put the movement caps in this time. It would have been finished yesterday but I got delayed because I got contracted to work at Jim Henson Studios for (...) (24 years ago, 30-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Another BrikWars RV question

What is the movement speed of various robotic propulsion systems? From talking to Mike, I think that it is the (4 * Pwr^2)/Mass. However, I think there is also a cap for each type of propulsion system. Thanks, Gino A... (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: BrikWars this weekend

(...) That's the sort of thing I was thinking. Maybe try out some Wizard rules. I've also bulked up on dragons and would like to try some of those. (...) I was thinking that this would be mostly big war machines. You can muster around 1600CP between (...) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: BrikWars this weekend

(...) That could work out well. I could finally try the skeleton army rules. (...) If it's just the two of us, then yeah, we could try that. But we have to be very careful with 3 or more people, due to just the sheer time of all the movements, and (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: BrikWars this weekend

[I'm bringing .fun.gaming into this thread in case anyone is interested] (...) I was thinking that we could plan a couple small battles for Saturday. Not worry about nice scenery or anything. We can use them to hash out some of the various rule-mods (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.gaming)

Re: brikwars and vehicles... and stupendous feats

(...) ...Ahha! I thought they were just too spiffy for general use! (...) ...Id buy several 'cheap' transports and put a few troops in each. So they couldn't all get gotten at once...   Re: brikwars and vehicles... and stupendous feats

  BrikWars updates in progress

Just a quick note - BrikWars has been going through another round of updates over the last week or so, you can get more details from the 'Recent Construction' box on the homepage ( (URL) ). Most of the changes so far have been fairly minor, but (...) (24 years ago, 23-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: brikwars and vehicles... and stupendous feats

(...) ...It was the jailbreak. I was bringing in a MTT mostly as a troop transport. It was slow, but faster than the troops on foot (didn't remember hoverboards). The idea was the MTT would be able to get them close enuf before dropping them off to (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

I can't figure out how to respond to messages, so

Yeah, me and my inability to figure things out. Okay, thanks guys. I'll keep it up. Yeah, maybe I've been unrealistic and such, but I had no clue about what's realistic and what-not. I'll try and make USLCS maybe 'slightly' more silly after hearing (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: A hard decision

(...) Wow, you've done a ton of work on the site since the last time I looked at it. (You didn't mention the site URL in your message - just in case anyone's interested: (URL) ) (...) If you do shut it down, I'd like to keep a copy of the game and (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: A hard decision

(...) I can sympathize with you all too well. I have a Lego war game (called Lego Combat) as well, with a rather meager web page. So far I haven't even had the chance to put the actual rules of the game up yet, just some supplemental stuff: (URL) I (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  A hard decision

Before I explain to you what I am talking about, I must tell you who I am. I am the creator of the slowly degrading Ultimate Space Lego Combat Sim, another LegoWars clone. I have a decision to make: Shall I shut down the USLCS website? I have (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: brikwars and vehicles... and stupendous feats

(...) What kind of a game objective were you going after? Some kinds of battles just don't lend themselves to the heavier machinery. Was this part of Jason Rowoldt's jailbreak scenario? I wouldn't have brought any heavy machinery into that. Under a (...) (24 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: LEGO, August 15th Battle Write-up

(...) Well. You'd better take next Tuesday off and come down to join us. We need to break this trend. BTW, we talked about playing Labor Day. Are we going to do it? Where? I seem to recall that it sounded like we can get a table at a store down (...) (24 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.general)

brikwars and vehicles... and stupendous feats

...Ok, something needs to be done with vehicles :-/ we played this weekend, and hoverboarded guys were the only ones to even make it close to the target. Troop carriers and heavy support vehicles are fairly useless unless they can kinda keep up with (...) (24 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: LEGO, August 15th Battle Write-up

(...) (non-sequitor time) Ever notice that we always play our battles on the 15th? Our first battle was on April 15th, the second on July 15th, now this one on August 15th. That's rather strange curious, don't you think? Adrian -- (URL) (24 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.general)

Re: A question about BrikWars robots

(...) Um, no comment. :-) (...) Neato! (...) Ok. Un-official supplement. (...) I was really trying to avoid bookkeeping. I was trying to follow the spirit of the combat system. You survive the attack or you die. I toyed with a hit point like system (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: LEGO, August 15th Battle Write-up
