I only want to preserve the existing CW as an archive, thats all.
|
CW should be able to adapt to the changing situation of the LEGO community at
large, and the castle community in particular. I think a cosmetic change
would be very beneficial. Perhaps as a compromise certain elements could be
maintained, or even a link to the archived webpages.
|
No compromise is necessary, we could start from scratch. It could be totally
revamped -- a NEW Castle World.
|
It should be very easy and minimal.
|
Yeah, I have to agree.
|
Also, a revamped CW site could include (just a brain storm, here) - a message
board for the *exclusive* use of being a place of IOM-esque story-telling
(still including links back to lugnet.castle). THUS, IOM-CW type action
doesnt have to clog .castle or .castle.org.cw - but .castle isnt in any way
abandoned in favor of a seperate site.
|
Two problems here: a) we dont to my knowledge have coding privileges on
ozbricks (which is to say, the ability to create a message board), and b) the
cw sub-newsgroup is precisely for whatever uses a CW community may have for
it. If castle people do not like it, they can skip cw newsgroup postings.
|
This would also allow for an easy way for people to visually see the stories
taking place, in a way that steps out of the Starship problem where
gameplay/story telling is done via private email. This would help make it
aparent how the game/story is played, and how people could join in, etc.
|
Again, with FTX I think we can use the cw sub-newsgroup to achieve the same
ends. Am I somehow missing what you mean by visually see the stories taking
place?
|
And lastly, did you get Anthonys permission before posting the private
email?
|
Yes, of course, he knows all about it. I think its in the body of the post: It
would be my impulse to post these two emails to lugnet: your email to me, and
also this response. Do you agree? He agreed privately, prompting my posting of
the two emails. Posting his agreement seemed a bit much.
|
One last last thing.. perhaps we should start a new thread?
|
Youre making it hard by making me have to respond to this one.

| Richard, First let me say that I'm glad you stepped into the CW admin role when you did, and am glad the site has been preserved. But I don't think we need to respect the wishes of people who haven't been apart of the community for 1 year +. Nothing (...) (21 years ago, 14-Aug-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.castle.org.cw, FTX)
