Hi everyone, I just want your input on this:

I can't help but notice that all of our mechs are very well armed, with the
exception of a few which simply look intimidating enough as it is.  Each one of
our creations is gifted with large destruction capabilities.  Unlike most of
the creations in "space", we have been manufacturing one weapon of war after
another.  My Zero had a "compact" 2ft long beam rifle for example.  While most
of the other mechs don't go overboard with their weaponary, they are not
manufactured by the Peacecraft family either.  On a side note, I have noticed a
dramatic drop in the number of smily faces figures in recent Lego sets.
As most of you have already guesed, I am thinking about this due to the last
episode of the 8th MS Team which portrays a Zion engineer in a somewhat
negative way.

Well thanks for letting me waste your time again.

Gundams were made to be super weapons.  In GW, the five gundams were built
to start an entire revolution!  It appears that Treize Kushrandia (Did I
spell it right?) built the Epyon to destroy the Gundams.

Mobile Suits still have an extreme amount of power, but are used in the same
way as infantry (IMO).  Though a Leo or Aires is easily capable of
destroying any other standard vehicle of war (tank, plane, helicopter,
etc...), they seem to always team when taking on another MS.

Battletech Mechs were orginally construction mechs, and it took several
decades before someone came up with the idea to put weapontry on it, in much
the same way as the airplane (altough the airplane only took several years
before it was in military usage).  Battletech novels describe  mechs using
powered down lasers as welders or blowtorches, and utilizing its size to
build structures.  Many foward Mech hangars and service bays are constructed
by the mechs that use them.

One thing that I would like to see people build is more mechs/mobile suits
that would be in the hands of the average pilot (1).  I intend to build a
couple normal Mobile suits, and I already have a collection of standard
Battletech mechs built from plans at Lego Mechcommander and Lego Mechwarrior.

I also hate the lack of smiling mini-figs these days, because I only have
frowing ones left these days!

(...) I have built all sorts of mecha, of many different sizes and purposes. Currently, most of them are intended as mass production mecha, with only the Colossus being of the "Ultimate Weapon" type design. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 2-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
