The legend of Atlantis is in part built on the destruction of Santorini
(Thera), the volcano that did the natural boiler explosion in the
Mediterranean. It left an atoll-like - yes, I'm stretching the definition,
coral likes warmer waters - island ring (a whopping great caldera). I really
don't know the specifics of vulcanism in the Med, but with the African plate
crashing into the european and middle east plates, it would seem to me to have
its fair share of volcanoes - Aetna, Vesuvius and Thera to name the most famous
ones.

| (...) Ah, now I understand. (...) I see your point. I guess that it all goes back to the label on the boxes that says ages 5-12. I can't fault them for making the sets gimicky, but like you, I wish for a little more 'meat and potatoes' in the box. (...) (25 years ago, 11-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)
