In lugnet.adventurers, Peter Merryman writes:
Who knows what beasties lurk in those Antarctic ice caverns?  What lost
civilations have been lying beneath those tons of ice?  And I wouldn't be too
surprised to find a few woolly mammoths wandering about in lost valleys near • the
north pole.

How about the Lost Continent of Atlantis? If you are going to find a lost
civilization why not the mother of all legends.  As for woolly mammoths I am
not going to disagree that they would be a cool addition, and while we are
wishing for extinct animals why did lego never do a dinosaur set?  Oh well
that is one for another time.

And even if things were less fanciful, I for one would love to have a mini- • walrus,
even a single-piece one.

You and I have similar tastes I can tell.  How cool would that walrus be
chasing lego seals and penguins for fun?  But if they did the walrus they
would have to give me a killer whale to eat him with.

On the other hand, I've wandered through the Legoland CA Adventurer's display,
which I believe is the source of this Arctic speculation, and the arctic • portion
of it seemed like it might have been just an excuse for a little joke  (I • don't
want to spoil it for any future visitors with anything specific>
Just some thoughts,

Pete

Please please please email me with your meaning.  My wife and I just had twins
and I know I won't get to go anywhere soon, much less California.  You would
be doing me a favor not spoiling anything.  So please email me and tell me all
about it.

Thanks,
Mark L

(...) Well, given that the Adventurers theme has so far depicted a world where mummies wander tombs and jungles are filled with perilous giant spiders, I imagine that any arctic setting would be "livened up" with a similar bit o' fantasy.
