RE: Brickfete 2011 a huge success!! (at least from the feedback I got from everyone)

lol, I was just going thru these pictures on flickr when this email came in. It is great that you and others got pics up and I will be looking for more over the coming weeks. Dave, it is especially nice to see the free build outside as I saw none (...)   Re: Brickfête - robot games - who won

(...) Chris, First, always go with your gut instinct. Mine was to get the CS display reasonably decent for showing. Foregoing any gears, I'm comfortable with what I brought to the event. Oh wait, I did have a display in the technic room! Well, (...) (13 years ago, 2-Aug-11, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Brickfête - robot games - who won

I know you are all curious to know who won, so allow me to (re) announce. 1. For the Autonomous Tug-of-War game, we had a total of one entry. That robot was declared the winner (by Default) Seeing as one of the rules was that the event organizers (...) (13 years ago, 2-Aug-11, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Brickfete 2011 a huge success!! (at least from the feedback I got from everyone)

Brickfete was fantastic! I'm still pumped and haven't come down from that high! The 4 days flew by waaay too quickly! So here's some things-- First, pics-- (URL) didn't take as many pictures as I wanted, but lack of time and energy. The good bit is (...)   Last-minute addition to BrickFair 2011 schedule: "Bricks in the Community"

Added at the last minute: a round table discussion at BrickFair this coming Thursday, August 4th at 11am. The topic is "Bricks in the Community" ... a few LUGs are working on plans for volunteer fundraising events that feature some sort of LEGO (...)   Re: Problems with LDView

(...) It's possible that LDView is running out of memory. Taking a snapshot with a high resolution would take more memory than loading the model in the UI, but the difference shouldn't be huge. 3000 parts is a fair number, but I wouldn't think it (...) (13 years ago, 31-Jul-11, to lugnet.cad)

Latest Moc: Scania R500 with Faymonville low loader

Finally the R500 is finalized together with the low loader. It took me about three years to fulfill the task. I started with the trailer just after finishing the unit but postponed it over and over again. I already had it in April 2011 but waited (...)   Re: Problems with LDView

(...) Hi Travis, I've tried to open it manually with LDView and that works. It happens with all of my models that have around 3000 parts and 3 layers max (with this I mean model-submodel-subsubmodel). I've taken a look at the activity when I try to (...) (13 years ago, 30-Jul-11, to lugnet.cad)

"Had it with eBay" celebratory sale

I did it. I sold my last item at eBay, and I no longer have a store there or any listings. The prices and service (high and low respectively) don't compare to BrickLink. Maybe they'll change for the better but for now, I had enough. So, to (...) (13 years ago, 30-Jul-11, to lugnet.market.brickshops, FTX) !!

  Re: Problems with LDView

(...) Are you able to manually open your model files in LDView and view them? Also, does this LDView error happen with all models you try to use with LPub, or just some specific model? If it's a specific model, would you mind sending me the model so (...) (13 years ago, 30-Jul-11, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Problems with LDView

(...) Hi! Thanks for your reply! I have put ldconfig.ldr in the same directory. It is not the complete solution: somehow it show the right color in the parts list, but in the assembly it still shows dark tan exactly the same as tan... Do you happen (...) (13 years ago, 30-Jul-11, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Problems with LDView

(...) Ok, ldglite's not the only thing showing it's age. I should've remembered this sooner, but better late than never. If you *always* want to use the ldconfig.ldr file in ldglite you just need to copy it in the ldraw/models subdirectory. Then (...) (13 years ago, 30-Jul-11, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Problems with LDView

(...) ldglite is is pretty old at this point, but it should be able to redefine colors using the ldconfig.ldr file. However since it is really old it may expect to find that file in the same folder as the model file being rendered instead of in the (...) (13 years ago, 30-Jul-11, to lugnet.cad)
