Here's the deal:
When I created the new forum and announced the change, I knew there would be
some people who didn't like it. Change is hard, I acknowledge that. But we
were driving away new blood for the sake of the old hats. Yes I like NNTP as
well but most of our newest users haven't heard of it. Does that mean the NNTP
is dead? No, but I have to find a way and write the software to revive it.
Since I've been painfully aware that a change of venue off of Lugnet has been
needed for years, I decided, after much delay out of nostalgia for the Lugnet
platform, to take the plunge. It's already payed off. We've had most
discussion in the few week since that move than we've had practically all year
here on Lugnet. And many of the long time contributors have successfully
adapted. For people like you and Jacob, I'll say a solution is on the ToDo list
but in the mean time please come join the discussion.
