Hi I have difficulties using my light sensor. The sensor value doen't seem to change very much. The light goes on as expected when my program starts, but the RAW values are quite close: White paper gives about 710, and black plastic gives about 820 (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

It loaded fine for me here at work, but I know for a fact it won't load at home, even though I am using Communicator 4.61 at both locations, both on NTWS 4.0 SP4. But the weight issue isn't always the reason for extra pieces. Set #8247, the Technic Road Rebel, is a little 47-piece set. It has 3 extra Technic bits: a smooth half-bush, a full bush, and 3/4 pin. I haven't found any reason for those extra pieces. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

But the extra width can be as little as 4 inches a side (in fact on some spine cars it's 0) which in a total width of 10 feet is less than LEGO resolution. Weighing a piece lot is almost quickest (most economic) way of counting it, and just to avoid any mistake (I mean missing parts) they always add an extra of the smallest (lightest) parts to the lot. In other words, they are working in the safe side (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)
