  Does anyone have reference pics of a Virginian X-A?
 
I am going to attempt to construct one in ldraw & I want reference pictures. (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

For steam engines with the most total wheels I think the title might go to some of the Garratt locomotives in Africa and Australia. Some of them had wheel arrangements of 4-8-4+4-8-4 for a total of 32. Only 16 of the wheels were powered however. (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Of course, more wasn't better. More wheels meant less weight per wheel thus protecting rails which couldn't support that much weight. Generally speaking, this is why Euro..er stuff has more wheels per pound than US stuff. So actually, less is (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Joseph, in answer to your question regarding the grey parts, they all come from many kits (no auctions) I own around 5 xwing kits and 7 snowspeeders :). The turret rotation is very smooth and uses a large 4 x 4 stud turntable with rounded base (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build)

For people in the US: Pitsco-Lego-Dacta has small chain links at $6.50 for 108 pieces (part #D779937) while Lego S@H has them at $4.00 for 35 (#5278). You are right, getting the angles of turrets is very difficult. The Tiger1 was relatively easy compared to the T34/85. I actually purchased a Mac serial/USB to 9-pin serial converter, unfortunately, all of the ports I have are not for a printer or a modem, which the software seems to be very picky about. you are sooo right, I too felt and still feel like an idiot by loving Lego at 31 years old!!! Admittedly I started buying it initially for my son, but on reflection it was mainly because I wanted him to take it up because it used to be my favourite (...) Hi, How do you sort them? by both color and size I assume. Any thoughts about making a shake grate, or whatever they call the wood frames with wire mesh or screen stretched across to sift dirt, fossils, etc. This would at least sort FAST by size, (...)
