Lastly is my FOTW-my 1349 Steven Spielberg Moviemaker set. For $44.94, I
couldn't pass it up. When you add on the $50 off coupon that Target
shouldn't have accepted, you end up with a set for which I only paid the
sales tax-$5 and change. Not bad for a $180 retail set if I say so myself!
It's a good thing it sold to me too, as Target was trying to pull a fast
one-half the items inside the box were missing! No actress, no software, and
no spotlight pylons! The nerve of some places trying to pass off an
obviously returned item as new. Good thing I got it on the very cheap, or I
would be upset about it. Lego gets a call tomorrow for some replacement
parts-I want that actress! :)

You said it! I got the 1349 also, no coupon - but still I thought it was a
great deal. The box looked like it had been in a war, very nasty looking. I
asked if there were parts missing if I could return it, they said no
problem. But this is what was missing:

Camera
Software
Instructions
All bay windows
Support pillars
All minifigs (well the torso of the stunt guy was still there)
The baseplate with the lava on it
big dinosaur

It went back to the store rather quickly. I am surprised that they would put
a set like that out. Not sure if this was a return, or if it was looted
in-store, but either way target had re-sealed it with their 'quality
assurance' stickers, and thats why I did not bother to check it in-store at
the customer service desk (which I have done with other sets at a few
different stores).

WOW! You were missing more than I was. My list:
Actress and Stuntman
Car
All animals
Bay Windows
support pillars
the 8 x 32 baseplate
the software
other assorted bits and pieces

My store won't take it back and frankly, I don't want to return it. I like the
idea that they accepted the coupon and made me pay just the sales tax. I'll deal
with Lego on the phone and call it a successful (if lengthy) purchase. I'm just
glad the green corner slopes were there!
