  Legoland Trip
 
On my last trip to San Diego I went to Legoland, CA. I must say that it is one of the coolest places I have ever seen. All of the displays are absolutely superb. LOL As if anyone would want to copy that crap that TLG uses at their parks! (At least in CA) Those *aren't* LEGO trains, but rather hybrids that would be scorned in a *pure* group like this. As someone who likes attention to detail, I have to agree. I've spent about an hour looking at the details in this diorama. I especially like your attention to the window treatments. Just some info for anyone that is trying to make a garden railroad. The distance from the inside of the rails is 73 mm. So if you want to make your garden railroad as close to the LEGOLAND trains then that would be the distance you would space the (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

When I worked in the factory (12 years ago) we had no contact with the brick molding people. We knew where they were, and every once and a while one of them would come out with a dumpster of deformed bricks. It looks like maybe a Chistmas Eve raid (...) (25 years ago, 17-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Thanks for the reply. I remebered seeing that technique on your gray train station "study" as I think you called it. That is why I thought you did the same thing on the door. My design is more straight forward and not as cool as Will's. I put a 5114 9 volt motor just behind the blade and simply ran an axle out of it. I get my power from a 5115 9 volt battery box (which has the two red switches for forward and reverse, (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Remember Ben, *gauge* refers to the distance between the rails, and is not to be confused with *scale*. Nice work. That is a very simple solution to the decoupling problem. Most other attempts (add this is what I was thinking of doing) pry the cars appart. I doubt this pack is really all that rare, but one of my favorites is the 5071 Large Wheel Set. This set contains two red locomotive wheelsets of the style that comes in the 7750 12V Electric Steam Locomotive (and as far as I know, only in the (...)
