I use a fishing tackle box for my minifigs, a thing with divided drawers that was originally intended to hold stuff like screws and bolts, and a another thing similar to that except it is @ 9W x 15L x 2H has movable compartment (...) | | | | | I went to a similar problem and I found a solution at Office Depot. It's a plastic cabinet monted on caster 30" high x 15" depht x 12" large. It contain 6 drawers 4" high. Cost about $25.
