The contest idea is good, but it's difficult to build very large projects
under time restraints. :)
Since you were so candid about your own massive cruiser, let me throw in a
few details about the Nautilus, just beginning construction:
Project name: NAUTILUS
Primary purpose: exploration (Lego Space Corps)
Secondary purpose: military defense
The Nautilus will fulfill the Space Corps's increasing need for
pre-colonization and mining exploration, while defending Earth and her
protectorates from potential military threats such as the Arcturians, the
Blacktron Empire, and the Orion Pirate Confederacy. The ship will carry
full military and scientific personnel, and will be capable of exploring any
terrestrial and extra-terrestrial environment.
Dimensions (approximate): 90 studs x 32 studs x 26 bricks
Propulsion:
2 fission-pulse boosters
Quantum-jump field generator (for superluminal travel)
2 external propellor screws (for underwater exploration)
Crew: 32 (General Naval officers, Medical Corps, Science & Research Div.,
Cartography Div., and Engineering Corps)
Note: exact crew number is subject to forthcoming operations analyses, and
may be subject to change.
Internal layout: 4 decks, including bridge, flight deck, cargo bay,
engineering, science labs, medical lab, habitat, arborium, turbolifts,
escape-pods, and observation lounge
Armament: [CLASSIFIED LEVEL 3]
The final draft proposal for the Nautilus was just approved by the Lego
Space Corps directors, and construction has begun while a crew is selected.
Admiral Brightbottom of the LSC Navy will oversee all phases of
construction, which will take place at the LSC's Futuropolis shipyards.

| I was thinking that it would be fun to have an MOC contest judged in a few areas: Biggest MOC, Most Well-Designed MOC, and Most Technology-Utilizing MOC (i.e. with motors, lights, possibly some dacta, technic, and mindstorms elements). Everyone (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.space)
