  April 26th, 2008 SMART meeting
 
Our next SMART meeting is only 2 weeks away. We'll meet at DigiPen, in the Plato auditorium at 2pm on Saturday, April 26th. (I've been assured the building will be open for us.) We had a great show at the LEGO store yesterday! Seven different robots built by Patrick, Craig, Gus, Doug, Tony and myself delivered thousands of chocolate Easter eggs to the waiting kids (and adults!) Gus also put on a mini Crate Contraption. Easter's just a week away, which means our next meeting, the day before Easter (Saturday) is even closer! This month we'll be meeting at the LEGO store in Bellevue Square, from 10am to about 4pm. I've got some great news about those who are participating (not just showing up!) at the Robotic Easter Egg Hunt at Bellevue Square. My son, Peter, and I should be able to participate. While I could bring electronic parts, I may not be able to bring a computer so I'm a little hesitant to volunteer to lead a team. I have built a small, 4 x 6, micromouse arena and uploaded a few pictures. I will bring this maze to the next meeting. Just in the nick of time, the day before Easter, I completed building a 4-colour NXT Easter egg painting robot. I started building it several months ago, when I thought I'd have plenty of time before Easter. Of course, at about the 85% complete (...) I'm forwarding this from the Washington FLL yahoo group. I would consider doing this but at this time I'm not sure what weeks this summer I will be in the Seattle area. What a terrific meeting we had yesterday! I was really blown away by all the walking robots people built. There were 7 fully working robots, and many other prototypes that people brought as well.
