The next SMART meeting is only a week away. (Appologies for the short notice!) We'll be meeting in our regular room at Digipen. The mini-challenge is to build a robot that will be able to cross between two tables using a rope. The distance between tables isn't specified ahead of time. The rope will be fairly taut, but depending on the weight of your robot, will still likely sag somewhat. We'll also be continuing our Indy Racer theme. Bring a racer to work on at the meeting. You'll have time to tinker with it, fiddle with the programming, and we'll have a couple of head-to-head runs as well, just for fun. This Grand Challenge for 2008 will be available for all the meeting this year, so now is a great time to start buiding your robot since you'll be able to see what the mats are like. It is recommended that any casters that you use are higher than just a single beam off the ground, otherwise they'll catch on the edge of the mat.
