Another post got me thinking:  what about going back to "old-shool" for this
contest ????  Like the early rtl events ?  ONE RIS set.  Period.
That would certainly solve the maximum weight debate?  It would also make for
very funky robots with translucent orange wings (for max weight).

Well, the early rtlToronto games were limited to one RCX--but not one RIS set.
The idea was that everyone had lots of Lego, but not lot of Mindstorms sets.  To
keep it even, we said one RCX only, so that "anyone" with a basic set could
participate.

I don't think I'd really want to be limited to one RIS set.  Size I don't mind,
but pieces...that hurts! :)
