Yes.
Umm, does it spot inside another
application?

case)

What kind of text data does it typically operate on?
We won't hold you to "yes/no" questions! All kinds

Is it special purpose?
No

Does it spot on PCs or mainframes?

Ohmigawd, I can't believe I walked into that! A classic shaggy dog if
there ever was one. (in more ways than one, so to speak :-))

But isn't that a pun and thus offtopic for .fun and thus subject to
needing to be crossposted to .pun? Or don't I get the rules yet? Help!

To re answer the three spot (1) questions
. It can run inside another app and often does... but it started as
standalone.
. Yes.
. originally MF but there is a PC version, believe it or not.

Still 13 questions left. A poster answered offline correctly with no
further clues (but he works for the company that developed it...)

1 - obscure reference... what is a three spot in the railroad context?
