Was watching CNN all last night and this was the topic of concern--
When Iraqi soldiers start driving vehicles into allied camps and blowing up,
a la 'suicide bombers', and Iraqi soldiers start waving white flags as if to
surrender and then start shooting when the allies get close, or when Iraqi
soldiers dressed as civilians get inside allied camps and start some carnage...
Quite frankly I don't blame the allies at all. Not one bit.
The truck wasn't stopping. It was ordered to do so in all languages that
could have been understood, and other less fatal measures were taken, and
the tuck kept on coming.
I probably would have done exactly the same.
War is hell--we shouldn't be in it up to our necks like we are. But it's
war and 'they' are not "playing by the rules". I know that there are no
rules in war, but if they start playing dirty, it's only their citizens that
will suffer.
Get SH. Get him, either alive or dead. Just get him.

| (...) I don't blame the *allies* either. UK armed forces have been openly criticising "heavy handed" practices used by the US ground troops. Have a gander at this: British military critical of US troops' heavy-handed style with civilians (URL) (...) (22 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
