Re: This makes me SICK! —Bryan Wong
(...) That is EXTREMELY sick. And he's charging people $10 for that single piece of information. I wish I could add on to the bottom of his auction and tell everybody to simply go to walmart.com. Bryan (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: This makes me SICK! —Chris Crawford
But, one other possibility: He was sick of seeing 8458s go for over $100 on ebay, and was trying to deflate the market for them a bit. Pure speculation on my part. Hey, why not put up your own auction for $0.02 and send the info to all bidders? Not (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: This makes me SICK! —Bryan Wong
(...) You're too nice, Chris. :) Actually, he's been selling them for over $100 on eBay himself... As if that wasn't enough of a profit, now he has to charge people for his source of cheap sets!         Re: This makes me SICK! —Bianca Nebab
Unbelievable. This is the same guy who was running the false "buy it now" for 124.99 8458 Dutch auction: (URL) put up one Silver Champion for 124.99 but promised others to get around the listing fees for a Dutch auction. A real scalper. "Bryan Wong" (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: This makes me SICK! —Charles Eric McCarthy
DaveE and Bryan Wong (1) together have it backwards. Putting information in the listing about where to get it cheaper *is* against the eBay TOS. Example provided by DaveE (quoted below).          Re: This makes me SICK! —David Eaton
(...) Well-- I just heard back from Ebay and they seem to disagree... they said "We have ... determined that the auction falls within our policy guidelines"... they didn't really say why or anything... DaveE (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: This makes me SICK! —Charles Eric McCarthy
(...) Interesting. They have the final say, but I think they should reword their written policy since it is misleading at best. And it does make possible a $0.27 auction for the same information, if that is something you feel like doing. ($0.27 will (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.auction)

Here's what I really wrote, and you were absolutely wrong about the ebay rules. Check out my RIS sales! Why do you have to be mad when someone else makes money?
