Yeah here I am Kaz!
Name: Rachel Kingston
Gender: (hurrah! theres three of us!!)
Year of Birth: 1967
Mental age/status of inner child: today 12, yesterday about 60!
Location: ACT
Email: kingston@spirit.com.au
Marital Status: Never! Tim has been around for almost 5 years though, so that
counts - and he arrived with more pre 1980's space, train and town Lego sets
than I care to divulge :-) Quick! where are the barricades!!
Children: 2 (11yrs and 3 yrs, and by god, that is it, no more!!!)
Occupation: Interior Designer and trying to complete a degree fine arts
honours (majoring in digital art and photography)
On lugnet: Hmm about 12 months-ish
# of sets in Lego collection: 304
# of unopened sets in collection: 40-50 (This is a measure of my self control,
these are birthday and xmas presents for my son)
# of pieces!!!: I thought I was really anal retentive for counting my sets, I
flatly refuse to count the pieces!
#lego theme parks: a big fat zero :-( Though my son dreams of going to "pirate
land" He saw it in "The Ultimate Collectors Book" and keeps asking when we are
going to take him there)
#lego fests: again none :-(
First Lego set: My partners huge collection of 1960-70's Lego that arrived
when he did, and if he ever leaves, it is not going with him!!!!! These
were "my" first sets, it is all his fault I got this addiction, and I remind
him of this whenever he raises an eyebrow at me for buying more! (I Don't
think he really minds how much I buy though, so I had better hang on to him!)
Fav themes: Pirates, castle, some adventurers, ninja, western, (am complete in
western for my sons birthday except the goldmine...anyone? Sorry shameless,
completely shameless.....)
Fav sets: OMG! How do I answer this one, my fav set is always the one that I
am hunting at any particular time. The one that I love is always the current
one that I can't rest until I find. I love the thrill of the chase!
Favourite piece: Hmmm as above I think. Though I do really dig castle helmets,
and the pirate wench is my favourite fig, or maybe the castle warrier gal.
Set theme that you would like to see: I like any set that has any kind of
historical basis, however vague, hence the fav sets above. I would like to see
greek, (think mythology-wouldn't this be cool) vikings, hey howabout amazonian
female warrier types (one breasted aggressive shemen!)
Current lego project: Building a castle befitting my warrier women
Greatest claim to lego fame: Hmmm would love to have something to put here,
but sadly no, don't think I have done anything awe inspiring...yet.
Other (non-lego) interests: My kids, painting, printmaking, photography,
photoshop, art and architectural theory. So in general, having a great time,
and earning a living from it!
