Make that 4 - I'm finally de-lurking!
Name: Deidre Rushton Brumby
Gender: Female
Year of Birth: 1972
Mental Age/Status of Inner Child: Still thinking about this one
Location: Hobart, Tasmania
E-mail Address: drb@tasmail.com
Marital Status: Married (to Lego tolerant spouse)
Children: 1 Son (4) + house rabbit
Occupation: Usually an IT Consultant/Computer Scientist,
currently having a stint as an at-home Mum(more time to play with Lego
but less money to spend on it!)
On Lugnet Since: Lurking for absolutely ages, lurking on RTL before that.
# of Sets in LEGO Collection: I've lost count. Lots.
# of Unopened Sets in Collection: 3 (saved for presents)
# of LEGO Pieces: no idea
# of LEGO Theme Parks Visited: None
# of LEGO fests attended: None
First LEGO Set: Unknown basic set from the 1970s
LEGO Dark Age: From 1984 until 1996 when my then 16m old son was given some
Primo starter sets. I went looking for more and got somewhat carried
away...
First Set after Dark Age: For me - Duplo Trains. For my son - Primo and
Duplo Monkey Bucket. First "real" Lego set was the Street Sweeper.
Favourite Theme(s): Duplo Trains, Duplo Animals(Zoo/Farm/Dinos), Lego Town
Will probably add Mindstorms and Technic to that soon.
Favourite Set(s): Street Sweeper (unfortunately the only pre-Town Jr set
we have). My son's favourite set is 6600 Highway Construction.
Favourite Piece(s)/Minifigure(s): Lego Skeleton, Duplo Animals.
Set/theme you would like to see: Non-juniorised Town (it's getting better
this year but still has a way to go) and more Duplo animals. Bring back
the old style Toolo (not the new Action Wheelers).
Current LEGO Project: Trying to figure out the best way to store it all
and still have it easily accessible.
Greatest Claim to LEGO Fame: My rabbit plays with Duplo, but unfortunately
eats the Lego!
Other (Non-LEGO) Interests: You are kidding - the only reason I get to
indulge in Lego is because my son likes it too! Ok, I seem to recall
I liked computers, astronomy, science fiction (not fantasy), music, walking
and collecting frogs (not real ones).
