Got an idea after looking at the star destroyer
in the shopathome catalog.  For those who are getting it
(can't include myself yet) would it be any fun to have a contest
to see who can build it the fastest?  There wouldn't be any prizes really,
just thought it'd be something cool to do.  LMKWYT.

It's funny how different people look at the process of building a large set
like this.  For me, it's not how fast can I do it, but rather the exact
opposite.  How long can I stretch this out?  How much patience can I
practice?  I often start and stop building throughout an afternoon or an
evening, sometimes while watching a movie etc.... just to make the building
experience last longer.

Building a big LEGO model is like enjoying a bottle of fine wine.  It is
meant to be sipped, not gulped.  :)

But again, everyone's different.

Indeed. I just want to cruise through it, pick up whatever tricks the set
designers have in store for me, and evaluate it's potential as a parts
source... it won't stay together long so why savor the build!

:-)

Nothing wrong with different ways of enjoying the hobby, that's for sure
