Well, the little Insectoid minifigs actually reming me of the Borg in Star
Trek, emotionally they have that space feel, and they have a great parts
sellection for space. So while I do like them they feel disjointed because
they seem like a malevolent force, but how can you have a great villan without
a protagonist. The Exploriens line shold have continued and expanded
alongside the UFO and the Insectoids. Then it would have had a more dynamic
emotion. Why did LEGO have to wait until all the other lines had dried up to
bring in an interesting backstory and conflict?! It seems that only long-time
collectors really experience the true depth of the LEGO universe.

Yes it is! Adds an interesting element and a new feel to the line. If I pull
way back in my collection, Majisto can be master of magical arts while the
Ninja Master can be the master of martial arts. They can be ancient "forces"
that sometimes work together, or not. Of course, the Witch is master of the
black arts. Interesting triad. I seem to be stuck on three way conflicts
tonight.
Peace (or piece),

The unusual number of the Unitron sets makes sense from that perspective. It's true that set numbers are not inviolate. (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space)
