You know, living in Europe, I see so many examples of this, and I have to agree
with Peters sentiment completely. Is there a *real* reason for making it US
only, or just laziness, or bad company inter-communication? Because as a
company that has world-wide distribution, I think they could effectively send
their new sets to any kid anywhere, with relative ease.
Most infuriating, is that by definition it is a WORLD wide internet site, and
if "Lego America, Inc" is allowed to hijack it at whim, then that just makes it
worse.
It isn't A Bad Thing (tm), just because it infuriates a few AFOLs, (TLC - This
isn't "American Fans Of Lego"! But also because those parts of their wider
customer base who don't live in the states - parents and children will see this
and, as I do, wonder why. Or WORSE, they will disassociate themselves
psychologically from the product.
TLC - I know that you're trying, and that you have large issues to overcome,
interdepartmental communication being one of them, but PLEASE don't take *any*
segment of your market for granted; or just as bad, give the impression that
you do.
