I'm all for having multiple fests each year.

Why haven't you attended a fest?

Seriously.

It's been a combination of location and a NLSO.  Now that I live in DC,
hopefully I will be able to get to the next BF, if only for the public
exposition.  In the past when I was not near a fest, it's kind of hard to say
"Well, honey, I love you and all, but I'm going to travel to Seattle or wherever
for several days to go to a fest."  Now that I will be local to a fest I can go
over for the day without it digging into family time.

I too have a NLSO but I've gone to the past two Brickfests in DC, taking the
boys (early teens) along both times.  Last summer I also brought my dad, a
NLfather.  He went along to see some museums and such and help driving from
Nashville.  He was stunned with what he experienced.  He wants to go next year.
He is working on my wife, to encourage her to attend something next year.

So, I might humbly suggest that you invite the new bride to attend with you.  Do
some things together and some things apart.  See some things other than the
ballroom filled with bricks.  Make it a minivacation.  She might actually have
fun.  Fest time doesn't have to be non-family time.
