Hi Jason,
Sure there is much discussion about standardization of "1st generation"
LDraw file format and nothing about a "2nd generation" file format that
would break compatibility.
Using only these 5 bricks i have built 30+ lego animals:
* 3001.dat
* 3002.dat
* 3003.dat
* 3003PE1.dat
* 6215.dat
See http://membres.lycos.fr/brickcaster/ (download ldraw files)
So one can experience new part formats with little effort, only 5 parts to
convert as a start.
