Is anyone interested in a newsgroup to discuss creating tables for layouts?
Tom Stangl and I had a conversation about it the other day, and were
interested in seeing open discussion between clubs on how everyone builds
tables. This could help disseminate best known methods people have
discovered, and also inform others of how _not_ to make tables. It could
also be of help when clubs try to link up for joint shows.
Thoughts?
Tom thought of the newsgroup lugnet.trains.presentation.hardware. He
suggests lugnet.trains.presentation.* could have other subgroups which cover
other topics related to putting on shows.
Perhaps this is better for lugnet.trains.org?

| (...) My feeling would be not to create another group; I think that that type of discussion is just fine for the .trains.org or even .trains groups. | (...) I think a "normalized" or "unified" design would be a great idea and newer groups like ours (LUCNY) would be happy to see input from the more experienced groups on what that design might be. JB (22 years ago, 21-Apr-03, to lugnet.trains)

And with that acompaniing pros & cons list by the clubs that use each respective technique. This would be handy for new clubs (...) | In lugnet.trains, Tim Courtney writes: Funny this post was made today. We (COLTC, Central Ohio) build our tables last weekend. We used the design of our neighbours to the north (MichLug). They are a sturdy design, with a kind of standard size top (3 (...) (22 years ago, 21-Apr-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.admin.suggestions)
