Re: 8458 Silver Champion is incredible!

(...) The stores closest to me here in Sweden still has them on their shelfs. Perhaps I should get myself a copy before the dust hides them? I recently bought the 8480 Space Shuttle in a store so it's no rush for the larger models here in the middle (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: gun1 project

(...) If you like technic sets you probably have by now a big collection of technic engine cylinder heads and round engine pistons. I know I do. I don't like single purpose pieces and I tried to think of an alternate use for them. What I came up (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

The biggest problem I could see, especially while I had my JCB Backhoe set, was that with the handpump, directional motion in one direction was dependent on the load being levered up - the directional motion on the other direction depended on how (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

(...) I see your point, although I have to plead ignorance as to what a reduction valve is. I assume it has something to do with pressure regulation...   Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

Gotta learn to handle this tool one day:) Just had to add this: Using airtanks is not always a bad idea with compressors, when you only need a single or few pneumatics actions once in a while, the air tanks can be nice to have (ofcourse with (...)   Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

(...) I have never seen the 8448 or the Indy storm 8445 in Canada, not even in the Lego Outlet store. The guy at the counter told me you could only get the 8448 through special order. I ordered a 8445 over 8 months ago (at the outlet store) and (...) (25 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 8458 Silver Champion is incredible!

The 8448's are still selling pretty strong in Skandinavia... I saw them at Legoland Billund (Danmark) for about $60 USD, and they were selling like crazy. The 8445's are also still being sold in large quantities in Danmark and Sweden, but they're (...) (25 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 8458 Silver Champion is incredible!

(...) I doubt it. I just did a USPTO trademark search and diddn't find anything obvious for "Super Street". Also, the 8445 was actually recalled from all stores, the 8448 was still sold by TLC stores until supply ran out a few months ago. 8448 was (...) (25 years ago, 14-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 8458 Silver Champion is incredible!

Could it be that 8448 also had a problem with a copyright, like 8445(Indy Storm). After all, there is a magazine called Super Street, so Super Street Sensation would definately conflict.   Re: 8458 Silver Champion is incredible!

(...) I should correct mmyself. 8448 was discontinued 3 months after it was released, not 6. I can't give the details, but I know from several sources that 8448 is no more.   Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

8458 Silver Champion's on the way in the USA

I didn't realize Huw was from UK, so I didn't post it earlier, but I checked my online bank and I was just charged for my preorder for 8458 on the 11th. So, that means its in the US and shipping, if I understand correctly. Call LSAH and see whats (...) (25 years ago, 13-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)
