It just arrived this morning. The box is about the same size as 8448. The
front panel opens to show lots of pics of the completed car. The box has a
clear half panel once the lid is open, to expose a bag of silver parts, the
silver wheels and the large rubber tires. The back of the box shows the
alternate model "Silver Truck" in lots of different poses. Also on the front
and back, it says to goto www.lego.com/silverchampion for alternate building
instructions for "Street Sensation" a cool looking street car made from these
parts. By the looks of the overall kit, it doesn't do much, but it looks
really sweet, expecially to a F1 and CART fan like myself. And from HUW's
scans, it is absolutely HUGE!
I think I have to stop having LSAH send the boxes to my office. They really
don't pack the boxes that well, they are always busted open and the corners of
the nice box are all dinged up and crushed. Same thing happened with my 8448,
but it didn't happen with the UCS sets. Very strange. I guess I would rather
have it a day later shipped to my home(ups wont drop off without signature).
Its a pain in the ass.

| I didn't realize Huw was from UK, so I didn't post it earlier, but I checked my online bank and I was just charged for my preorder for 8458 on the 11th. So, that means its in the US and shipping, if I understand correctly. Call LSAH and see whats (...) (24 years ago, 13-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)
