Thanks for the compliments. Coming from "Dan the man" it means a lot.
Especially with the things you've whipped up.

Thanks dude!

I'm not sure I like or dislike the hubs. I'm somewhat neutral on them - I'm
mostly using them because they're the best thing I have for engines at the
moment. Next time I'll try something else.

How about those beveled wall corners from castle sets? I think they're 3 X
3. You know, get four of them and it makes an octagonal cylinder which makes
a pretty neat looking nozzle when placed sideways (like the nozzles on my
red and grey Rebel Transport).

I have a lot, actually. My space and castle collections the two I've focused
on the most but I probably have more castle. I pull bits from city and other
things to make my space creations. That's where most of my gray plates come
from too. :) I thought about using them since I'd looked at your MOCs prior
to beginning on the Taranis. I just didn't think they were "large" enough in
diameter for the length of the ship. I'm sure there are other ideas and I'll
probably try something difference next time. :)

They're certainly heavy for one thing. Amazingly enough, they actually make
the thing rear-end heavy and making the nose gear little more than
stabilization and not much in the way of load bearing...! And the ship isn't
small, nor very hollow - lots of 2x2, 2x3, 2x4 and even 2x6 bricks between
the hull and the interior deckplates.. and it still balances to the rear..

Do you have one of those weighted bricks from the floating boats sets? That
could help balance better.

Dan

I don't have any weighted bricks, but looking at the setup again, it's not
quite as bad, now as I thought. It was really wobbly before with the
temporary gear I was using. Now that I have it all rebuilt, the click hinges
are quickly becoming my hero..  I figured Grand Admiral Muffin Head was just
spouting off  for the most part ;) I'm really surprised. They're wobbly,
themselves until I set it down and then they just stiffen up. The rear pads
still hold more weight than the nose pad, but it doesn't appear to be as
much as I originally expected. It doesn't look like it's going anyplace. :)
