what, no bathrooms?:)

Many bathrooms, or, in Navy terminology "heads."  Each pair of quarters will
share one (sixteen enlisted to a head, four officers to a head).  This with
the exception of senior officers, each of whom have private facilities.

not unlike Enterprise-A's bridge. Is the bridge going to be a full size
bridge like E's or smaller, like Reliant's?

Smaller than the Reliant's, actually.  Even including Helm and Nav, the only
other stations will be Tactical, Communication, Engineering, Operations, and
Sciences.  Well, & the Capt's chair, of course :)

I'm very curious to see what you have come up with. Making a minifig scale
ship is a major undertaking (and one I thought of for a short time)and will
be a large commitment of time and um...money!!

Oy, the money!  Well, I'm not planning on building it at all at once.  I'll
probably wind up spacing construction over a couple of years, mostly to
assist with mass Bricklink purchases :)

But it is possible to build. What are you going to use for reference? And do
you plan to make the ship able to open in sections? And do you plan to make
the saucer able to separate?

There aren't many sections which will be able to open -- with the exception,
of course, of sections of the ship with exterior doors: i.e., cargo bay,
shuttlebay, airlocks.  I was thinking about doing it modular, but I don't
think I have the skill to pull that off, and I'm afraid too many weak points
in the hull could comprimise such a large construction.

I wish I could see your floor plans...this sounds like a great project to
work on!

I'm going to try and send 'em out to a buddy in CA with a scanner.  Mind
you, they're pencil on graph paper, and I have to go back out and flesh 'em
out a bit ... I realized after doing it (assuming each square was 36 square
pegs) that I hadn't accounted for width of Lego bricks, so everything seemed
nice and big and roomy ... and, ooops, those corridors will probably only be
two pegs wide!  Grrr.
