I've enabled picking your own color/style scheme for the syntax highlighting
but I won't have that revised zip up until later this evening.

Looking into the way syntax highlighting is performed in RcxCC revealed a
few "features" that I find undesirable.  In my experience, the Undo doesn't
really work right.  It also appears to be counting the change of
highlighting as a modification.  Try opening a file, turn off color coding
in the preferences dialog, then close the file.  It will prompt you to save
the modified file.  Try typing "task" in a window then press Ctrl+Z.  It
will highlight the word task but it will not undo/redo anything.
Conversely, if you type "the" and press Ctrl+Z (undo) it will undo/redo the
typing of the letter "e".

Anyway, I mention all this because I'm considering redoing the syntax
highlighting entirely so that it a) doesn't mark the file as modified, and
b) allows for multiple levels of undo and redo.  The control I have in mind
to replace the existing one with will also allow for lots of cool additional
editor features like bookmarks, block indent/unindent, and additional syntax
highlighting features.  It'll also allow for a better print & print preview.
And it is extremely configurable in many other ways.

Does this appeal to anyone?  So far I've only heard from a handful of RcxCC
users.

At present, I've enabled Scout (tested) and RCX2 (untested) support, added
configurable color/styles for syntax highlighting, and fixed a few minor
bugs (which I haven't documented yet).  If you are aware of bugs that you'd
like fixed or you have a feature you are itching to see implemented and you
haven't already emailed me, please do so.

Thanks,
John Hansen

I've tested your RcxCC version, and it works great with RCX2 (AFAIK). (ah, and still works simultaneously with CyberMaster too, eheh) That reminds me, one very useful thing for people working with various pBricks simultaneously (like myself), would (...) (...) I am considering taking advantage of the -raw option on NQC or possibly the -remote option to further enable RcxCC in the absence of Spirit.ocx. Of course, most users of RcxCC will have spirit.ocx, but Scout users may not. I'm not planning on (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)
